It's time! The third annual DIY awards, celebrating the amazing women in DIY that inspire us all, is HERE!
Having a community of fellow women out there totally killin’ it shows us what's possible, keeps us inspired, motivated, and excited to keep turning our houses into dream homes, one DIY at a time.
YES, YOU!!
I don't care if you have an instagram dedicated to your DIY projects or your kiddos. I don't care if you have a garage full of power tools, or a single hammer.YOU are invited to the 2022 DIY Award Ceremony Bash!
Okay, what even is that?
Well, the past two years the awards ceremony, where we announce the winners of each award, has been online via Instagram Live. But here's the thing: having a reason to get together and celebrate IRL? That's where it's at.
I want to be clear that this event is NOT exclusive to influencers. This event is for anyone who loves DIY, loves being a part of the DIY community online, and wants to come celebrate.
We'll have a DIY Dress-making competition, red carpet so you can feel like a DIY celeb, DIY themed cocktails, photobooth, mini tattoo station, brand activity booths, the Awards trophy presentation (obvi), sweet swag bags full of stuff you actually want, and dancing!
Join us on January 28th at 5:30pm for a night to celebrate DIY. Early bird ticket pricing available until November 19th.
Again, there are no account size requirements to attend, you do not need to be a full time influencer or content creator. This is for the DIY community as a whole-- creators, enthusiasts, friends, newbies, everyone who loves DIY!
There are 5 categories, broken out into 3 tiers based on follower count, and one overall award (Best all around DIYer) open to anyone regardless of IG account size.
To ensure that DIYers with fewer followers have the opportunity to win an award and don't have to compete against folks with huge followings, each award is divided into account size tiers (0-10k, 10-50k, 50k+). When submitting nominations, make sure you submit your nominee to the correct section based on their number of followers!
Winners from last year’s awards are not eligible for nominations this year to give space to celebrate new and different folks, and I (@liz.morrow) am also not eligible, so while I appreciate y’all’s love and support, don’t waste a nomination on me!
GEAR
UP FOR YOUR
NEXT DIY
Hoodies, tees, leggings, beanies, and even mugs for the coffee that fuels your projects, in the shop now!
Every year I hand make each trophy right in my garage! They're made out of wood I have on hand, tools, saw blades, gold spray paint, and other bits and bobs. They're a little kitschy and a lot fun. Making the trophies is one of my favorite parts of the DIY awards! After the voting is done and winners have been picked, I order custom plaques for each trophy with the winner's name and the title of the award. Then they get shipped out to the winners who get to keep them forever!
Did you think the DIY fun stopped there? Nope. For the Live Awards Ceremony on Instagram where I present the awards to the winners, I make my "gown" out of stuff I find in my garage-- Duct tape, plastic sheet, garbage bags, wood, nails, etc. Last year I constructed my gown the day of the awards ceremony on my IG story, but I have an idea for this year's gown that might require a little more pre-planning... we shall see!
Need a shirt to proclaim your love of DIY? Looking for the perfect planner to organize your next DIY project? I got you!
